Souler Energy: Court of the Dead Creator Tom Gilliland at SDCC

Tom Gilliland, creator of Court of the Dead and CCO of Sideshow, made several stops to meet mourners in the Mortal Realm at SDCC 2018.

Nuclear Blast Concert Poster Signing

The madness started early on Thursday with Tom’s first signing at Nuclear Blast booth #501. The poster for legendary thrash metal Testament featured Court of the Dead art, and mourners and metal fans alike were enchanted by the bright action scene. Miss Chrissy Lynn also stopped by as Queen Gethsemoni to meet fans, pose for photos, and draw the lucky pin giveaway winner. Court of the Dead Library Signing

New mourners usually begin their descent into the Underworld with the extensive Court of the Dead library. Tom stopped by Insight Editions booth #3721 to sign any Court of the Dead book that mourners already had, or wanted to purchase. Insight Editions publishes everything from The Chronicle of the Underworld to the Grave Tales Omnibus, to the Deluxe Hardcover Sketchbookand Deluxe Hardcover Journal. Fans could buy copies on the spot, or bring their own for Tom to sign.

The fun didn’t stop there, soon after the signing came to an end SFX makeup legend Rick Baker stopped by to talk to Tom and the Queen herself.

Gallevarbe “Eviscerator” Premium Artist Proof Print Signing

Gallavarbe is one of the few beings that the Alltaker handpicked from the Mortal Realm. She is a fan favorite and possesses many abilities, including shape-shifting, to aid her in her hunt to reap wayward souls. To match the fierce aptitude of our beloved assassin, we needed an artist with energy in equal measure. World-famous painter Olivia De Berardini perfectly captured the spirit of Gallevarbe with her “Eviscerator” Premium Art Print, delighting dedicated mourners and new fans alike. Tom and the model, Sherri Wheatley, joined Olivia at Tweeterhead‘s booth #5550 to do an extremely exclusive signing of 15 artist proof prints.

In this highly digital day and age, it is a rare pleasure to meet mourners in the flesh. We would like to thank everyone who came out to these signings, and everyone who tuned in online to join us.

Rise, Conquer, Rule!
